About the Website

This website was originally created for the Port Phillip EcoCentre in 1999. Then members of the EcoCentre committee of management were responsible for the design, content and construction of the 'core' pages.

The EcoCentre invites further ideas for new sections to be included in the website. It also seeks web developers who would be interested in working on a volunteer basis to help expand and develop this website. Also, sponsorship to develop new sections would be gladly welcomed.

The menu bar at the top of the page provides site navigation from each page.

Site navigation reflects site philosophy. There are a number of core pages associated with the home page. Also, sections of the site, e.g. 'St Kilda penguins', have been developed by volunteers and/or independent developers.

Allowing some stylistic independence within the framework of the overall site design is a deliberate policy. This is in keeping with the community nature of the organisation, and allows greater flexibility in developing new sections to suit the the content or other needs.

The EcoCentre logo, which is positioned at the top left of each page, always provides a link back to the EcoCentre home page.

In sections of the site with a sequence of pages, e.g., Little Penguins, 'next' and 'previous' links are also included to provide simple navigation through that sequence of pages.

Where appropriate, credits for each section, e.g., 'St Kilda Penguins', are listed within that section.
