Prof Robert Schneiders on US Army vs Missouri River (Army 0, River 1)

Bert Schneider, who admits to being from Iowa, is an environmental historian/geographer. Bert is in Australia working on a number of research papers but has offered his time to EcoCentre to assist in a number of areas. We have invited him to present to us on his vast experience of the military and ecology and he has agreed to present a talk to us on the topic of "Unruly River: a history of the Missouri". Bert will provide a history of Missouri development from the late 1800s to the present, explaining how the US Army Corps of Engineers tried to "tame" the river - but failed. He will also draw some parallels with river ecology in Australia.

You are invited to register to attend by booking at reception@ecocentre.com with email Subject: "Schneider" - please remember to provide your name and number of seats required. We ask for a nominal donation of $5 to support EcoCentre projects, payable on the night.
