Build your Backyard Friends a Home

City of Glen Eira is running a FREE community presentation on building a nestbox, using the EcoCentre's expert staff.

Build a home - nesting box or insect hotel - for the native birds, bats, bees and insects that live in your backyard.

You will learn: 

  • which local birds, bats, bees, and insect species call your backyard home;
  • how to design and build a nesting box or insect hotel for different species; and
  • how to install and maintain your nest box or insect hotel.

Please note: Only one nest box or insect hotel can be made per pair or individual. All materials and tools will be provided.

When: Sunday 5 February 10am-12pm

Where: Caulfield South. Participants will be advised of the location of the workshop when they register

Other: Children (minimum 6 years of age) must be accompanied and supervised by an adult
