Nature with Julie, ATLAS Lord Somers Camp showcase

Connecting young refugees and migrants to Australian nature

ATLAS is a weekend program at Lord Somers Camp to connect teenage refugees and newly arrived migrants to Australian nature. Julie, a volunteer leader at ATLAS will share how this program allows young people to cultivate a sense of belonging and connect to nature in their new homeland. Hear from Julie about how you can get involved or support ATLAS.

Julie Karra, 24, is a refugee from Syria, currently studying pharmacy. Julie will share stories from Syria and how her family gardens and continues to practice Syrian traditions in their home in Melbourne.
