Join us for a hands-on morning dedicated to tackling microplastic pollution and improving the health of our waterways and coastal habitats!

Be part of the solution to microplastic pollution at our Beachkeepers Microplastics Litter Audit
event! This session focuses on sorting, counting, and documenting microplastics and other litter
collected from Port Phillip Bay’s beaches. Your contributions will help provide valuable data for the
Victorian Litter Watch app, which informs effective litter reduction strategies and helps protect our
local biodiversity.

Start the day with tea, coffee, and an induction briefing before working alongside our experienced
team leaders - no prior experience needed. All tools and gloves will be provided for this important
citizen science activity, but enclosed shoes are essential for participation.

Together, we’re taking meaningful action for the health of our beaches, bay, and biodiversity.

We would like to acknowledge the project support for Beachkeepers of the Bay provided by the
Victorian Government through the Port Phillip Bay Fund.

The EcoCentre acknowledges the Kulin Nations, including the Yalukit Willam clan of the Boon Wurrung language group, traditional custodians of the land on which we are located.

We pay respects to their Elders past and present, and extend that respect to other First Nations and Elder members of our multicultural community.
