Join the EcoCentre’s Matt McArthur on a dive into the Port Phillip Bay to discover the biology, migration and distribution of native Giant Spider Crabs (Leptomithrax gaimardii). You may have heard of the Giant Spider Crab aggregation events in the shallow waters of our Bay during winter. Matt will share his stories and explain why marine biologist and scientists believe these fascinating creatures gather in shallow waters for such events every year.
After you’ve learnt all about Giant Spider Crabs, test your general wildlife knowledge with an interactive quiz!
This session is part of the digital seminars series provided by the Port Phillip EcoCentre in Winter and Spring, 2020. The session will be held over Zoom.
