Join Port Phillip Baykeeper Neil Blake OAM and the Beachkeepers of the Bay for a morning exploring coastal habitats around Port Melbourne in this important research activity to find out more about what shellfish call Port Phillip Bay home. Taking part in these shoreline shell and live mollusc surveys will help us understand ways to rebalance our precious Bay’s ecosystem. This Beachkeepers of the Bay instalment will also involve a weeding bee to remove invasive weeds that compete with the local vegetation for precious nutrients and resources.
This work also complements our PestWatch program and Community Rapid Response Teams who are dedicated to removing the invasive Northern Pacific Seastars (NPS) from the Bay. Follow the link below to find out more information and register for this event.
