Join us at Sandridge Beach for a family-friendly Shoreline Shell Survey! Discover the fascinating world of shells while contributing to important ecological data about Port Phillip Bay’s biodiversity.
Together, we’ll explore the shoreline, identify shell species, and learn about their ecological importance as carnivores, herbivores, and filter feeders. This hands-on activity is perfect for families and all ages—no prior experience is required! Come along to connect with nature, learn about local marine life, and contribute to scientific research that helps protect our beautiful bay.
Dress for the weather, and don’t forget to bring a hat, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle. All tools and equipment will be provided. Bringing your own garden gloves is encouraged. Together, we’re building a stronger, greener community—one volunteer effort at a time. We would like to acknowledge the project support for Beachkeepers of the Bay provided by the Victorian Government through the Port Phillip Bay Fund.
