Join us at Brighton Beach to discover the wonders of the intertidal zone. Help identify and document shell species that reveal the health of Port Phillip Bay.
Take part in a Shoreline Shell Survey at Brighton Beach and learn about the ecological roles of shells in the intertidal zone. From filter feeders to herbivores and carnivores, these species are vital to keeping our beach and bay balanced and thriving.
This family-friendly event is open to all ages, offering a chance to connect with nature, learn about biodiversity, and contribute to important scientific research.
Dress for the weather, and don’t forget to bring a hat, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle. All tools and equipment will be provided. Bringing your own garden gloves is encouraged.
Together, we’re building a stronger, greener community.
We would like to acknowledge the project support for Beachkeepers of the Bay provided by the Victorian Government through the Port Phillip Bay Fund.
