Join us in celebrating National Volunteer Week and be there at the beginning as we start planning the garden at the new EcoCentre.
We’re thrilled to invite all our volunteers and community members to our first workshop on designing the garden at the new EcoCentre along with a special lunch to celebrate National Volunteer Week on Friday, 24th May from 11am-1.30pm at our Cora Graves site.
Come along and be part of the planning for the new EcoCentre garden. Let’s talk about the productive spaces, the Wominjeka indigenous garden and what this garden means to you. See the landscape plans that will be the backbone of the garden, and let’s discuss how it all works together with our brand new Net Zero community hub. We’ll be talking plants, habitat, growing food and how this garden will bring us together. We’re almost there on our amazing new building, so let’s get cracking on a garden to match!
This event is also our way of celebrating the achievements of our integral volunteers and acknowledging the diverse passions and talents individuals bring to volunteering. So come join us for a celebration filled with delicious food, delightful company, and an opportunity to participate in the new EcoCentre garden.
All EcoCentre volunteers and community members are welcome, and we encourage past volunteers and members to come along and reconnect as we start getting ready to inhabit the new building and new garden.
Register for the event via the link below. If you have any questions or need further information, don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re eagerly counting down the days and looking forward to celebrating with you!
Garden Planning Workshop – 11am
Lunch – 12.30pm
You are welcome to come to both or either session.
The EcoCentre redevelopment has been made possible through the tireless efforts of state and local governments, community groups, and our dedicated staff, committee, and volunteers.
The garden planning workshops are supported by grants from Elwood Community Bank, Palais Theatre and donations from our community.
Let’s come together and dream about our new EcoCentre building and garden as we prepare to take over the site in the next half of the year.
