Discover the captivating world of wetland biodiversity at our upcoming Wetlands and Wildlife event, presented in partnership with Melbourne Water.
Join us once again to discover the captivating world of wetland biodiversity at our Wetlands and Wildlife event, presented in partnership with Melbourne Water. This immersive experience will explore the wonders of wetlands and their vital role in our natural environment. Last year, as part of our Wetlands and Wildlife series, we held this same event, and due to its success and the importance of consistent and collaborative approaches, we are t hrilled to repeat it this year in order to collect and compare important data.
Street litter remains a primary cause of pollution in our waterways. Understanding its impact is crucial for protecting the health of these habitats. To address this issue loca lly, we will conduct Creek and Street Litter Audits along and around Elster Creek.
Consistent and collaborative methods are essential for ensuring accurate and reliable data collection, which in turn allows for effective analysis of litter patterns and tr ends over time. By maintaining consistency in our approaches and fostering collaboration among stakeholders, we can enhance our understanding of the creek's health, identify targeted intervention strategies, and work towards preserving this vital ecosystem for future generations.
During this event, we hope to witness the beauty of water birds gracefully navigating their wetland habitats and perhaps catch the melodious chorus of frogs and other fauna that add their unique voices to the ecosystem. These fasci nating creatures offer a glimpse into the delicate balance of life within wetlands, showcasing the ecology and intricate connections between species.
Together, we can foster a sense of stewardship and contribute to the conservation of these remarkable ecos ystems. The welfare of wetlands rests in our hands. Join us to make a difference and protect these vital habitats for the future.
This is a family friendly event. All welcome
