Keen to know more about each break-out session?
1. Beach and shoreline profiling with Neil Blake OAM
Neil will provide an overview of ongoing research as a part of the EcoCentre's Port Phillip Bay Research Fund. Little is known about the impact of live mollusc movements, and therefore the beach profiles along the shorelines of St Kilda Beach in relation to introduced and natural predators during various times in the year. Join this session to hear more about recent finds, and how to become involved in upcoming research.
2. Clean Bay Blueprint update with Fam Charko
Fam is an expert in plastic pollution and marine debris impacts on our waterways and the Port Phillip Bay. In this session, Fam will provide an update and overview of the research completed and ongoing efforts by volunteers to map out exactly what has been found. Microplastics are as they sound – micro! Citizen science volunteers have contributed to an amazing set of data you'll want to know about.
3. NatureSpotting with Reiko Yamada
Reiko has been leading the NatureSpot citizen science project with community members and volunteers who have assisted with the collection of hundreds of units of data from their backyards and local parks. Join this session to hear about this continuing project, as well as how to participate in a Living Water Workbee in your local community and an update on our multicultural engagement programs.
