City Nature Challenge 2

Let’s come together to explore and discover the wonderful wildlife and local flora nestled in the new urban wetland environment of Yalukit Willam Nature Reserve.

In partnership with Melbourne Water, the EcoCentre invites you to take part in the City Nature Challenge; a global event where cities around the world are collaborating to share observations of the unique animals and plants that also call the city home.

We invite you to put Melbourne on the map of this international coming together of nature lovers and spotters alike in an odyssey of documentation and discovery. This event is both part of the City Nature Challenge four day Bioblitz using the i Naturalist app, as well as the first instalment of our upcoming Melbourne Water sponsored wetlands and wildlife events.

Adventure with us into the serene sanctuary of the Yalukit Willam Nature Reserve. As an emerging bird paradise you may see purple Swamp Hens, White-faced Herons and Eastern Rosellas.  This haven also harbours frogs, turtles, native invertebrates and even rakali.

So join this biodiversity sighting spectacular and make your mark on the City Nature Challenge.

This event is supported by Melbourne Water.
