Pascale Jacq

Pascale is a naturalist and explorer, who loves learning and engaging community by combining her training in horticulture, forest school and linguistics, Born and raised on Woiwurrung country in the foothills of the Dandenongs, Pascale has learnt about the bush from her mother and also Boonwurrung and Wurundjeri traditional custodians. Pascale has travelled the world as a linguist (MPhil, ANU) documenting minority indigenous languages followed by studying horticulture at the University of Melbourne.

Pascale is a trained Forest School Leader (Mindstretchers), with experience running Bush Kindergarten, Playgroups and School Holiday Programs with EcoExplorers. Each year she presents workshops to nature educators at Nurture in Nature’s Campference. Pascale currently teaches gardening at East Bentleigh Primary School where she has won 2 Junior Landcare Grants for the school to restore indigenous habitat and engage community in helping improve biodiversity. Pascale has created the iNaturalist projects for both the Yalukit Willam Nature Reserve and East Bentleigh Primary School to monitor biodiversity and help contribute to citizen science.

The EcoCentre acknowledges the Kulin Nations, including the Yalukut Weelam clan of the Boon Wurrung language group, traditional owners of the land on which we are located.
